Because implementing an ERP solution consolidates disparate processes into an integrated solution, these processes will change. However, while overall staff productivity improves, it\u2019s <em>not all sweetness and light<\/em>:<br><\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>Workloads\ncan shift, reducing for some employees but possibly increasing for others. For\nexample, creating customer records shifting from the back office to the front-line.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>The shift\nin workload can also result in a need for a change in skill set, often as the\nefficiency gains of transaction processing frees up time for other activities. <\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>Some employees\ncan lose the ease of access and the customised nature of information from their\nadhoc systems, such as manual note books, spreadsheets, etc.<\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph {\"customFontSize\":17} -->\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">In other words, <em>the gain for the many can come at the expense\nof a few<\/em>.
